TSKB developed a project called “Environment is Our Priority at TSKB’’ with the aim of creating a platform where all parties can come together, enhancing the knowledge and conscious level of society, supporting individuals young and old alike to gain positive and permanent attitude changes developing the feeling of owning the environment.
» Conference in October 2008: Opportunities and Expectations in Renewable Energy
The subject of the 2nd Environment Conference TSKB held on the 24th of October, 2008 was assessed as: “Opportunities & Expectations in Renewable Energy’’. With the participation of the General Manager of European Investment Bank Phillipe Maystadt, Minister of Energy and Natural resources Hilmi Güler and the Minister of State Mehmet Şimşek, TSKB helped many people of different disciplines from the business world to academicians, Non-Governmental Organizations and to international financial institutions gather in the conference to discuss renewable energy issues.
» Most comprehensive Environment Portal of Turkey, Cevreciyiz.com is One Year Old
Known as the most comprehensive environment portal of Turkey developed by TSKB, cevreciyiz.com met its visitors with a brand new face and special sections as it celebrates its first year.
In this period when the English version of the site is also online, the interview with famous environmentalist Memet Ali Alabora, nature photos by famous photographer Ali İhsan Gökçen, columns by many important names especially Mikdat Kadıoğlu and an Online Competition that rewards the environment knowledge of the participants with surprise gifts are among the interesting sections.
The success stories of many environment-friendly companies including Arçelik, Vitra, Toyota, Frito Lay, and HP are shared in the section prepared for the business world.
News about the environment; the environment agenda of Turkey and the world; research, articles and writings of academicians, non-governmental organizations, and professionals relating to the issue; special environment folders, competition, poll and interactive tools such as carbon meter; environment legislation; things to do in order to conform with legislation in the corporate sense, photo documentaries about various protection areas and sections devoted to young people and children exist as well.
Last year TSKB developed a project called ‘’Our Priority is the Environment with TSKB’’ with the aim of creating a platform where all parties can come together, enhancing the knowledge level of society, supporting individuals young and old alike to gain positive and permanent attitude changes improving the feeling of owning the environment. cevreciyiz.com was launched as the communication channel of this project.



» Significant Support from Our Environment Ambassadors
Assessed within the context of the project, the Environment Ambassador group includes names in Turkey who are successful and can be a model. The group came together with the aim of conveying the project to the greatest majority possible and frequently and constantly bringing it to the public agenda. The Environment Ambassador Group consists of the business world, media, art community and academicians and contributes to different phases of the project.
» 7. Meeting Youngsters with Akasya Summit Sponsorship
TSKB became the main sponsor of the 7th Akasya National Youth Environment Summit held at the Tuzla Campus of Sabancı University on 18th-20th April, 2008. The non-governmental organizations, university clubs or the youngsters working by means of individual initiatives came together in a democratic platform that embraced different opinions in the summit held with the cooperation of Turkish Environment Protection and Greenifying Foundation (TüRÇEK) and Sabancı University Social Responsibility Projects (TDP). The subject of the summit, opened with the participation of the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Hilmi Güler, was assessed as ‘’energy’’ and the energy-environment relationship was discussed throughout the summit. As Meltem Gülsoy from TSKB participated in the panel with the topic of ''Renewable Energy Potential of Turkey'' as a speaker with the title of “Finance of Energy Investments’’, the social responsibility point of view of TSKB and cevreciyiz.com were presented. The TSKB stand drew interest from the participants throughout the panel.


» Support of Education with the Sponsorship of TEMA Education CD
TSKB became the sponsor of the education CD called Erosion, Nature and Environment-2008 annually prepared by TEMA. Erosion, Nature and Environment, Erosion and Desertification, Global Warming and Climate Change, Ecosystem and Biologic Variation, Agriculture and Agricultural Applications, presentations for High Schools along with TEMA publications and a photo archive exist in this work whose book was also published. Aral Gölü (26 min.), visually one of the most interesting parts and shot by the directorship of Kemal Önder and Macahael Documentaries (40 min.), can be viewed in the 2nd CD of the Education Set.
» A Look at Environment Finance in 2007 Environment Conference
Another significant activity was “Our Priority is the Environment with TSKB'' held in December 2007. This conference brought together international finance houses and the business world for a livable environment and sustainable development. The World Bank, European Investment Bank, German Development Bank, European Council Development Bank, French Development Agent and senior representatives of TSKB discussed the financing of environmental investments and talked about successful projects.
» NGOs and the Public are all Together on the Day of Meeting Nature
“The Day of Meeting Nature” was held in Fenerbahçe Park within the context of the project in 2007. This activity brought together relevant non-governmental organizations, elementary schools and youngsters under the leadership of TSKB. Entertaining activities for kids took place in a stand which was opened with the aim of indoctrinating the environment conscious, and presentations and shows were performed.
